Folks its mid March, that means severe weather is not going to be an uncommon event. We have an increasing concern for a severe weather threat Saturday and Sunday across the area. During this time all types of severe weather will be possible with the strongest storms (hail, winds, tornadoes possible). The greatest severe weather threat Saturday would be hail from 1″ to maybe even 2″ in diameter with the strongest storms that develop, along with a possible damaging wind, and lower end tornado threat especially with any discrete cells. This activity looks like it should stay along I-20 and areas south and, areas east of I-35. Sunday as a dry line and cold front approach the region, we’ll need to monitor cap strength throughout the day to determine what activity we could see Sunday afternoon and evening. If storms can develop in the conditions they’ll be under, they will likely produce large hail, damaging winds, and maybe even a tornado, although the tornado threat for both days appears to be lower end. We will continue to monitor the forecast. Check back for the latest
