Welcome to Weather 225! Weather 225 is one of the first truly independent 24/7 weather streaming channels in the United States. Our company was founded and is owned and operated by Joshua Wisel.
Joshua started Weather 225 when he was 15 years old. Joshua developed a passion for weather after growing up terrified of storms, turning that fear into a passion for weather and weather awareness. Because of this, our mission since day one is to deliver no-nonsense, no-hype forecasts and information to our viewers. What you need to know, without the added nonsense to drive clicks and views.
What makes us or Joshua credible?
Joshua brings over a decade of experience in weather coverage, broadcasting, forecasting, and producing to Weather 225 Media. Over the course of that timeline, Joshua also worked with other regional weather operations, TV media, and student media outlets through college.
Viewers in our Arkansas and Oklahoma coverage areas may recognize Joshua from his time on TV with a local news station based in Northwest Arkansas. Joshua served as a weekday/weekend meteorologist for a few years on TV before returning to Weather 225 this spring.
Our Mission
Weather 225, since day one, has pursued a no-nonsense, no-hype approach to weather. We want and love the views we get and earn from you, the viewers, BUT we don’t push fear to get them. You want the information important to you without the filler, and we seek to pursue that.
We also look to serve the underserved communities in highly active weather areas. We serve communities in populated areas, but also areas that get overlooked because they’re not as populated or they’re between markets for traditional media broadcasts. Whether a town has 1 or 1,000,000 people, we seek to cover both equally through our updates and hazardous weather coverage!
Who do we serve?
We serve the communities of Northwest Arkansas, the Arkansas River Valley, Northeast/Eastern Oklahoma, and Southwest Missouri. Above is a map of the areas we cover. From Joplin to Mena, and Stillwater to Jasper, we have you covered 24/7!
How we’re funded and our advertising
Weather 225 is self-funded by Joshua himself and through our advertising partners. We are YOUR local outlet. We know the communities because we’ve been in these communities. We are not some national company or group that covers areas we’re unfamiliar with.
When a company advertises with us they are not just writing a check and then that’s that. If a company helps us, we want to help them back. We visit our advertisers to see their operations, share information about their company, and offer content opportunities to expose their brand and services to our loyal and growing following.
We could make a lot of money by letting some random ads plug into our website and bring an annoying pop-up experience to our viewers. But we don’t believe in that. Because we’re your local weather outlet, we want to support LOCAL. We are excited to say we were the first to not only bring 24/7 Weather Streaming coverage and broadcasts to Northwest Arkansas back in 2021, but we are also the ONLY ONES locally across our markets to launch a full 24/7 dedicated Spanish and Marshallese channel for daily weather information, to serve all the communities in our coverage areas!
