2:10pm Weather Update (7/4/2020)

Good afternoon, and happy 4th of July North Texas. We currently have some shower activity along parts of our Red River counties (Cooke, Grayson counties). These are non severe. Localized moderate to heavy rainfall and some lightning will be possible with these.

Pop up shower/storm activity will be possible throughout the day, for areas mainly along and East of I-35. However, activity will remain fairly isolated, as coverage is expected to remain only 10-20%.

If you have outdoor plans and activities today, be sure to stay cool and hydrated today as the heat index will be in the 100s once again today. Most of the area should remain dry today, however, it’s not a bad idea to have a way to receive lightning alerts, in the event pop up storms develop in parts of the area this afternoon and evening.
