Update on the Grand Prairie Natural Gas Fire (4/18/2020)

We have an update on the Grand Prairie natural Gas Fire near the Mayfield Rd area, and I-20. As of (4:49pm) Grand Prairie Fire Department has now given the all clear for SOME residents, to return to their homes and businesses in the areas that were evacuated. There are still areas that are not in the all clear to return at this point in time. Stay tuned.

Recap on what happened:

At 11am today Grand Prairie Fire Department was working a gas leak and fire incident at Mayfield Rd and 360. An hour later, around 12pm today, emergency management ordered evacuations for areas around the incident, and issued an EAS broadcast on the NWS KEC56 Weather Radio to transmit the evacuation order to the public with a Civil Emergency Message.
