This is a meaningful initiative because it focuses on access to information and preparedness, not making promises about alerts or warning capabilities. I’d suggest emphasizing weather awareness, preparedness, and access to information while clearly stating that the radios are informational tools and not emergency warning devices.
Weather Safety Outreach Initiative
Access to Weather Information Shouldn’t Be Limited
Weather affects everyone, regardless of housing status or financial circumstances. At Weather 225, we believe that access to weather information is an important part of personal safety and preparedness.
That’s why we’re launching the Weather Safety Outreach Initiative, a community effort to collect and distribute handheld weather radios to individuals experiencing homelessness and others facing financial hardship.
These radios provide access to AM, FM, and Weather Band broadcasts, allowing recipients to stay informed about changing weather conditions, listen to local forecasts, monitor temperature trends, and hear official weather information during significant weather events. Whether preparing for an approaching cold snap, dangerous heat, heavy rain, or severe storms, access to timely weather information can help individuals make more informed decisions about their day.
Through donations from individuals, businesses, organizations, and weather enthusiasts, we hope to place weather radios and batteries directly into the hands of those who need them most.

Our Vision
While this initiative begins in our local communities, our goal is to expand nationwide. Every person deserves access to reliable weather information, regardless of their circumstances. By working together, we can help bridge that gap and promote greater weather awareness in communities across America.
