Summer Internship Program — Weather225
Weather225 is offering a non‑paid Summer Internship for college students seeking hands‑on experience in weather broadcasting, digital media, and severe weather communication. This internship is designed for students who want to build real‑world skills in a professional weather‑media environment.
This is an experience‑only position. Weather225 does not provide pay, benefits, or insurance.
Internship Requirements
- Must Be Enrolled in College (any major welcome; meteorology, media, or communications preferred)
- 19 Years of Age or Older
- Strong interest in weather, broadcasting, or digital media
- Ability to work in a team environment and follow newsroom‑style communication
- Willingness to learn, take direction, and adapt to fast‑changing situations
- Reliable transportation and personal equipment (if participating in field tasks)
What You’ll Do
- Assist with daily weather content and newsroom operations
- Support live severe weather coverage
- Help prepare social media updates, digital content, and basic production tasks
- Shadow Weather225 staff to learn real‑world broadcast workflows
- Optional: Participate in field assignments depending on skill level and safety clearance
Compensation & Insurance
This internship is unpaid. Weather225 does not provide:
- Pay or stipends
- Mileage reimbursement
- Health, liability, or equipment insurance
All participation is voluntary and at your own risk.
Media Rights & Portfolio Use
What Interns Can Keep
Interns may keep personal on‑air reels, including:
- Forecast segments they appear in
- On‑camera reports
- Clips where they are the presenter or contributor
These may be used for personal portfolios, resumes, and demo reels.
What Interns Do Not Own
Interns do not own:
- Weather225 graphics
- Weather225 branded content
- Production elements
- Templates, maps, animations, or any internal assets
- Any content produced by Weather225 staff or systems
Weather225 Usage Rights
By participating in the internship, interns grant Weather225 royalty‑free rights to use:
- Any content created under the Weather225 name
- Any footage, segments, or media produced during internship duties
Weather225 may use this content on broadcasts, live streams, social media, and digital platforms.
