Position Overview
Part‑time and fill‑in contributors assist with:
- On‑air weather segments
- Severe weather coverage
- Digital updates and social media communication
- Occasional field or remote reporting
- Supporting Weather225’s mission to provide accurate, real‑time weather information
These roles are flexible and based on availability, skill level, and coverage needs.
Requirements
- Prior experience in broadcasting, meteorology, or weather media
- Degree in meteorology, communications, journalism, or related field, or forecasting experience. (This can include non-degreed former weather hosts/talent.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally on‑air
- Strong understanding of forecasting fundamentals and severe weather communication
- Reliable equipment for remote or at‑home segments (camera, mic, lighting, etc.)
- Willingness to follow Weather225’s style, safety guidelines, and communication standards
Compensation & Insurance
These positions are unpaid. Weather225 does NOT provide:
- Pay or stipends
- Mileage reimbursement
- Health, liability, or equipment insurance
Participation is voluntary and at your own risk.
Media Rights & Portfolio Use
What Contributors Can Keep
Former talent and degreed professionals may keep:
- Their on‑air segments
- Forecast clips
- Any appearances they personally make on Weather225 platforms
These may be used for personal reels, resumes, and portfolios.
What Contributors Do Not Own
Contributors do not own:
- Weather225 graphics
- Branded content
- Production elements
- Templates, maps, animations, or internal assets
- Any content produced by Weather225 systems or staff
Weather225 Usage Rights
By participating, contributors grant Weather225 royalty‑free rights to use:
- Any content created under the Weather225 name
- Any segments, reports, or media produced during coverage
Weather225 may use this content on broadcasts, live streams, social media, and digital platforms.
