Established in 2015, Weather 225 became the first online weather streaming service and DFW-exclusive digital platform of its kind in North Texas. What began on Facebook quickly expanded into a full website and grew to streaming across multiple platforms, including YouTube, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, and more. We pioneered online severe weather coverage in DFW and were among the first in North Texas to launch a 24/7 live weather stream for the region.
Our founder, Joshua Wisel, brings over a decade of experience in weather media and forecasting, spanning our own platforms as well as other streaming and television outlets. From the beginning, Joshua has been committed to a no-hype, no-nonsense approach to weather reporting—focused on educating and informing the public so viewers can follow along with confidence and overcome weather-related anxieties. Our dedication has always been to the people we serve.
Over the past decade, Weather 225 has grown dramatically, establishing itself as a leader in the online weather space. We were among the very first in the nation to do what we do, and while we continue to expand, our growth is never driven by fear-mongering or sensationalism during severe weather events. Instead, we remain committed to clarity, accuracy, and trust.
