Isaias Expected to reach CAT 2 strength over the Bahamas overnight (7/31/2020)

The latest forecast path from the National Hurricane Center, now has Hurricane Isaias strengthening into a Category 2 Hurricane over the Bahamas late/overnight tonight. Heavy rainfall and flooding, destructive winds of 80-110mph, and high storm surge, are likely with Isaias over the Bahamas with its current track.

For the rest of Isaias path, the forecast hasn’t changed much, with the cone of uncertainty continuing to skirt parts of the Southeastern US coast, before impacting parts of the North Carolina coast, and continuing to move North/Northeast along the Northeastern US coast. That is the current track for Isaias at the time of this article (9:30am 7/31/2020)
