Severe Storms expected today and later tonight across NTX 1/10/20

Good morning NTX. Late last night the SPC has expanded the (4/5 Red) Moderate Risk for storms, to now include the eastern half of the metro area.

The rest of NTX is either in a (2/5 Yellow) slight, or (3/5 Orange) Enhanced Risk for storms. These outlooks are not just placed by severity, they are placed where coverage is expected to be anticipated. Regardless of what risk you are under today, you need to stay alert of the weather!

Timing for storms today across the whole region we cover, I’m still saying about 1pm- 11pm. That timing is for all the counties west to east we cover. All types of severe weather will be possible: Large Hail, Damaging winds, and a few tornadoes. Flash flooding may also become a problem in some spots as well. We will have to watch for any discreet or rouge cells that fire up this afternoon ahead of the main line of storms. These would be capable of large hail and even a tornado or two.

Today, make sure you have ways to receive warnings, and weather updates, and review your severe weather safety plan. It’s always good to over prepare. There’s no need to panic however.

We know severe weather gives many people anxiety. The best thing you can do is prepare, have a plan, and just stay alert 🙂 Fears like that are real, and we get it. You’re not alone. Just be sure you’re alert and ready. Another good way to help with those fears, is by learning about storms, severe weather, and what causes severe weather. Growing up I was terrified of storms to the point I would get sick, and now I’m telling you about them.

Today is a day you need to stay weather alert! There’s no need to panic, just make sure you’re aware of the weather today. And again have ways to receive warnings

  1. Amazing blog! Do you have any tips for aspiring writers? I’m hoping to start my own website soon but I’m a little lost on everything. Would you suggest starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so many choices out there that I’m completely confused .. Any suggestions? Thanks!

    • Hello! Thanks for commenting on our site. I would recommend WordPress to start a blog with, because of how simple and easy it is to create a blog post, as well as how customizable it is to create your own site with customizable widgets, styles, and much more. We have really enjoyed our WordPress experience over the last 4 years. WordPress pricing is reasonable as well. Thanks again for commenting, and visiting our website.
